Entrepreneur and The Characteristic
1.
INTEGRITY AND RELIABILITY
Integrity
is a personal quality of fairness that we all aspire to, unless you’re a
dishonest, immoral scoundrel. Having integrity means doing the right thing in a
reliable way. It’s personality trait that we admire, since it means a person
has a moral compass that doesn’t waver. The quality of being honest and having
strong moral principles. He’s person of great integrity who will say exactly
what he thinks.
Tan Sri Mokhtar Al-Bukhari
Tan
Sri Mokhtar Al-Bukhari is from Alor star kedah. He start his business as operator meat in 1970. He is known as a humble but he never satisfied with his position
and he always work hard to improve his standard of living. Around 1980 he
change to transportation which has make him become one of the most successful person
in Malaysia. He is a responsible
person for making port Tanjong Pelepas, Johor most popular in the world on
short time. Tan Sri Mokhtar has
founded Yayasan (Islam) al-Bukhari that help in building Muzium Kesenian Islam
worth 70 million in Kuala Lumpur. Other than that, he also doing charity
especially around Perak and Kedah. His effort has made Tun Dr. Mahathir to
encourage more corporate leaders to follow in his foot step. He is also never
give up and always learn from mistake, he is cautious person especially in
buying and taking over a company. He
always thinking about others need before making important decision in business.
2.
INITIATIVE
Initiative
traits of an entrepreneur is an effort to expand their business. People who
have this traits will always have an idea and ways to overcome problems.
Initiative means the ability to assess and initiate things independently. Other
than that, initiative also means the power or opportunity to act or take charge
before others do. Initiative actually is all about taking charge. Initiative
can also mean a personal quality that shows a willingness to get things done
and take responsibility.
Lisa Fong
Lisa
Fong, CEO of OSCAR footwear marketing Sdn Bhd. Since she was in school, her
father always bring her to help at the shoe shop for some pocket money. The
experience has influence her to start an industries which was dominated by men.
She was unable to improve by producing men shoes, so she take the initiative in
making safety foot ware. Nowadays her client includes a large company such as
Petroleum National Bhd, Top Glove Bhd, Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd, The
Federal Land Development Authority, Seagate Industries (M) Sdn Bhd and The
Royal Malaysian Police. Her product was export to Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam,
Canada, and Fiji. OSCAR Footwear is the No.1 safety foot ware in Malaysia.

VERSATILITY
Capable
of or adapted for turning easily from one to another of various task, fields of
endeavour. Describes having many different skills or qualities. Versatility
allows you to adapt to many different situations. Your versatility in sport
means that you can play soccer, tennis and basketball. The noun versatility
derives from the Latin word versatility meaning “turning, revolving, moving,
capable of turning to varied subjects or tasks”.
Tatparanandam Ananda Krisnan

Ananda Krisnan (Oil Trader) MAI Holding Sdn. Bhd. Born 1938 is a Malaysian
businessman and philanthropist, nick name AK, currently he is estimate to have
a net worth of US$11.7 billion according to Forbes’ latest annual list of
wealthiest people, making him the second wealthiest I Southeast Asia behind
Report Kuok, and number 82 in the worl. AK’s first entrepreneurial venture was
a Malaysian consultancy MAI Holdings Sdn Bhd. He set up Exoil Trading, which
went on to purchase oil drilling concession in various countries. In the early
part of the 1990s, he started diversifying into the multimedia area.
Currently,
he has business interests in media (Astro, Johnston Press Plc), satellite
(MEASAT, SES), oil and gas (Bumi Armada, Pexco), telecommunication (Maxis,
Aircel, Axis, Sri Langka Telecom), he owns stakes in Tanjong Public Limited
Company, and investment holding company with subsidiaries involved in power
generation (powertek), gaming (Pan Malaysian Pools), leisure (Tropical Island,
TGV Cinemas) and property (67% Maxis tower etc)

DECISIVE
Making
something certain or final, having the ability to make clear decision quickly.
Decisive is having the ability to make decisions or something that determines
what comes next. An example of decisive is a person who always make up her mind
firmly and quickly. Second, of decisive is the information gained and quickly.
Decisive is the information gained from a student’s success in the classes
which they take to determine their interest in their major field of study.
Irfan Khairi
Irfan
Khairi graduated with a B.A. Hons in multimedia Design from Staffordshire
University, united Kingdom. Soon after, irfan was offered to work with one of
the largest IT companies in Birrmingham, Netmedia (UK) Ltd as a multimedia
system developer and a multimedia consultant, Irfan was responsible to create
an internet learning system for the schools in United Kingdom called the
Learning Grid. Currently there are more than 5000 schools across the United
Kingdom using the Learning Grid system. However, with the background and
knowledge as well as his passion in internet and business, he decided to start
his passion in internet business back in 1999. He then decided to pursue his
internet business full time after a full year of operation as he was getting
more getting income from the internet than his 9-5 job. Since then, he has been
working full time from home using his laptop through the internet. Within 3
years of operation, one of his internet businesses generated RM 1000,000 net
profit. Without workers and state-of-the-art computers. And his start-up costs
was only RM500. He was only 25 then. Irfan’s internet business, under the name
of idea Bubble, has served more than 3000 customers around the global. Most of
them are from USA, UK, European countries to the Middle East, Japan and
Australia. Among his winning ideas were creating E-books, developing graphics
and websites, SEO (search Engine Optimization) service, selling maps, online
hotel booking, multimedia, E-commerce and learning consultancy.
5.
TIME
COMPETENCE
The
fact of having the ability or skill that is needed for something. The
entrepreneur who is suitable for this traits. Time competence is ability of an
individual to do a job in time properly. A time competency is a sit of defined
behaviours that provide a structured, guide enabling the identification,
evaluation and development of the behaviours in individual employess on time.
Time is such important variable in knowledge organization, that it must be
competence.
Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong
Tan
Sri Lim Goh Tong, the founder and owner of the Genting Highlands Resort. He is
wealth less before migrating to Peninsular Malaysia and this has motivated him
to work hard to change his life. Now he is one of the richest person Southeast
Asia with an asset RM421.8 Billion. He passed away on 2007. He once work as a
carpenter before working at Kien Huat Company as an A class contractor. He was
labelled as a crazy person because of his desire to developed Ulu Kali Mountain.
Finally all of his hard work has paid off, he had introduce a new vacation site
and renamed it as Genting Highlands. The opening of Genting Highlands has given
a job opportunity to the local people. Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong is known as someone
who is able to manage his time wisely. For example, He always comes 10 minutes
early at the promised location. He never break a promise that he made because
that will be bad for the relationship with client. He also like to sleep early
so he can do his job feeling fresh.
6.
PERCEPTIVENESS
The
quality of insight and sympathetic understanding. The ability to see and do
what is necessary without waiting for subordinate to tell you. Feel a draft to
sense negative feelings of others toward one-self, to perceive subtle
manifestations of hostility, often racial. This phrase, obviously based on the
dual dimensions of physical and emotional coldness, originated in the jazz
world. Perceptiveness also having the ability to perceive, keen in discernment.
Dato’ Loh Boon Siew
Dato’
Loh Boon Siew is from one of the poorest district in China, Hui Village in
Fukian. He is from a poor family which cause him to unable to go to school.
During his childhood, he has been working to collect animal filth to make it as
fertiliser and fishing to sell the fish to help his family financially. When he
was 12 years old, his father take him to Pulau Pinang to find a job. His father
wanted him to work as a mechanic at a workshop. Both of them didn’t have time
to for enjoyment, instead they had to work hard to deliver extra money for
their family in China. To get an extra cash he had to work at night as a bus
cleaner. He was paid 10 cent for each bus he clean. When he was 18, he was
interested to open a business of his own and he always thinking a way on how to
get the opportunity to do so. He bought mechanic tools for RM 10 with his
saving from doing all the extra job. He also purchase 8 buses with the price of
RM 200. Through his bus transporting company, he had earn around RM 1.20 to RM
1.80 each day. After 7 years he had own 40 buses with the money he save. He
also open his own hardware that sale batteries and vehicles spare parts. He is
the man who is able to introduce Honda brand vehicles in Malaysia as the 3rd
biggest in the country.
7.
ABILITY
TO LEARN FROM MISTAKE
Someone
who have ability to learn a mistake to continue to rise. Mistake help us learn
the existing theory of life between good and bad. Sometimes, a mistake may seem
too good to approach it or it may be too dreadful to even dream about in your
wildest dreams. The theory above is exclusively mine, which I learned from a
big mistake that was related to the field of education. This is the only phase
in human life, where we fall to the pressures and rise above them learning what
is the best for us.
Harsukhlal Maganlal Kamdar
Harsukhlal
Maganlal Kamdar is the founder of “Gudang Pakaian Kamdar” which has many
franchise all around Malaysia this day. He was born in Gujerat, India. He
arrived at Malaysia in 1941 after finishing school. He travelled to Singapore
and began to get involved in export and import of clothing and other product
that was dominated by the Punjabi’s. However his activities was stop due to the
World War 2 that was occur. He quit job along with his brother around 1950 and
began to open his own business Kamdar at Ipoh,Perak. Back then the name of his
business was BA Lalaji and later change to BH Kamdar and finally Kamdar. He
open another shop in Singapore. His company continued to expand and Kamdar has
officially open in Kuala Lumpur. During 1977 Malaysia had a financial problem
that had cause one of his shop in Jalan TAR was force to close. Thus he and his
brother decided to change their business, they not only focus on
entrepreneurship, they also doing charity work such as helping to manage and
built houses unfortunate children in Gujerat, India. He was reported to give
RM500 000 to earthquake victims in Bhuj, India. His secret to be successful was
he never afraid to make mistake because from the mistake he made he will learn
how to face risk in business.
8.
ETHICAL
CONSCIOUSNESS
Ethical Consciousness
is the quality or state of awareness or of being aware of an external object or
something. The characteristic of ethical consciousness is to build a management
of culture effective entrepreneurs such as promises, honest, trustworthy and
welfare.
Dato’ Aliff Syukri
He
comes from a poor family in Pahang, he has to work hard to change his life. He
likes to open a business but does not have money to do so. “Terlajak Laris” that
was a famous tagline from one of the most successful businessman in Malaysia.
He always appeared on television. He is Dato’ Aliff Syukri, the person who
successfully develop and put his product D’Herbs in the market. Using
television to broadcast his product advertisement and his famous tagline, Dato’
Aliff Syukri was able to attract his marketing target in Malaysia. D’Herbs is
now the most wanted cosmetic product in Malaysia and has made Dato’ Aliff
Syukri a millionaire. He is someone who does not like to accept help from other
people before he try.
9.
FORESIGHT
The
ability to see what will probably happen in the future and to see use this
knowledge to make careful plans. For example, knowing to save money into
emergency fund in case you lose your job. Advantage to entrepreneurs who have
this feature is they are able to predict a matter before occur whether the
matter will profit or spoil to them.
Tan Sri Tony Fernandes
Tan
Sri Tony Fernandes was born on 30th april 1964, in Kuala Lumpur. He was the man founder of Tune Air Sdn Bhd.
He is the son of Edward Fernandes and Ena Dorothy Fernandes. Since he was a
child, he always join his mother to business meeting abroad. After he graduated
Epsom Collage and London School. He come back to Malaysia and work as Managing
Director of Warner Music. He then quit his job to pursue his dream to run a
Flight Industries. He request for business license to open his flight company
but was rejected. He did not give up, and soon he saw the chance by Dato’
Pahamin A.Rejab, ex secretary-general of the Malaysian Domestic Trade and
Consumer Affairs Ministry, who took him to meet Tun Mahathir Muhamad about his
plan to but AirAsia Company. During that time AirAsia was own Malaysia and DRB
Hicom with a debt as much as USD 11 million. Tan Sri Fernandes took the company
along with all its debt. His presentation about marketing plan finally
convinced Tun Mahathir and gain his trust. He had to work extra hard, promoting
a low cost flight ticket to attract many customer. His plan was a success later
he was able to settle the company debt. Now AirAsia is one of the famous flight
company all around asia. Tan Sri Tony Fernandes is an entrepreneur how has a
clear view on what he want, this is why he wasn’t afraid of the risk of taking
over a dying company and turn it into one of the most successful flight
company.
